Shit, I think I kinda know how you feel. This reminds me of when I came out to a good friend of mine a year ago. We had been good friends for around eight years and she seemed ok with it at first but then she told me she didn't want to see me anymore until I tried to change.

My best piece of advice is to to just let this friend of yours go. I know you might be worried that he might try and cause trouble for you, but I guess I'm hoping if you leave him alone, then he'll leave you alone. That approach has gone ok for me so far, I hope it will work for you too.
