I will try not to turn this into a debate.

But really, China has been openly and intentionally devaluing children and moreso girls for the last 30 or 40 years.

Millions, literal millions, of girls have been genocided. And boys too, for that matter. One more? Really, do youse think it makes a difference? Why would it? I don't see why it would.

It's no less a human tragedy, but it's not like it's gonna stop today; and it's not like nobody could see it coming.

I am not surprised that it happened. I am more surprised that anyone considered it newsworthy.
