Is it live or is it Memorex?

Today’s computers are very powerful and fast. Today, I can take a photograph of Lenin and completely remove Leo Trotsky’s image in a couple of seconds, if I want. Or, I could put his image back in, if I want. (I mean, in case Stalin changed his mind, eh?) In fact, although I was not the artist, I have an image of a very pretty Asian woman that, from what people have commented to me, it’s almost impossible to tell that it was computer generated by a program called Poser. And photographs are not the only things that can be manipulated. I can take a toy spaceship and fly it through a worm hole into some obscure Delta Quadrant in a video I want to make. Or, returning to the pretty Asian woman, I could make her and me…. well, let’s leave things to one’s imagination, okay? The point here is: computers are quite good at helping people fake things.

Earlier today, I had my computer create one of Dissident’s essay’s into a speech. I used a program called “TextAloud” and a very pretty British woman’s voice pack and, within seconds, I had a podium-ready hour and a half speech already for WNBC’s nightly news interview. (Okay, Dissy, maybe it wasn’t that long!) It was a nice speech but, moments later, I took a copy of the British woman’s voice and ran it through a filter in a program called “Audition” (by Adobe.) The results were astounding: the woman’s voice was now a 6 year old little girl’s voice. And I fell in love with her. I created my own script for my new little girl friend to say and, well, she sure was nice. I deleted the .mp3 file I had created just in case the FBI was snooping around my computer. Paranoia, right?

But it did prompt a question in my mind. I was wondering if, using my computer, I made a cartoon little girl that would capture my interest, would I be in legal danger? So, I drafted up some scenarios that would give you all something to think about. I am asking for your legal opinions: which of the following are constitutionally legal?

1. A physically real sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
2. A physically real platonic encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
........Platonic, adjective:

4. A video of a real sexual encounter between a 20 year old little girl pretending to be a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
5. A video of a computer generated cartoon sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
6. A written account of a real sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
7. A written account of a fictitious sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
8. An audio recording of a physically real sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
9. An audio recording of a fictitious sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
10. An audio recording of an account of a real sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
11. An audio recording of an account of a fictitious sexual encounter between a 6 year old little girl and a 40 year old man.
