Negative Names

In this case the negative name stems from a negative attitude.

In other cultures a negative name can be a sign that the child is so precious that the parents wish to deceive the evil spirits about the child's "value." Names like "Sickly" or "Secondborn" are fairly common in cultures where its assumed that a healthy firstborn child is too inviting a target for the spirits.

Of course this seems kind of like some of the stunts Orthodox Jews use to fool Ghod into believing that a set of plates aren't really there during Passover. The "powers" are all-knowing enough that you can't hide from them, but easily fooled by renaming things :)

Anywho, I wish these girls happiness with their new names.
