Yes, like semiautomatic and automatic fire ⚠️ ↗ and other such superficial differences. ;-)
Afghan "military training" is not training, but experience. Their soldiers have virtually no formal military education.
Uh, excuse me, we trained a lot of the older Taliban fighters ourselves, who no doubt then passed on their training to the younger fighters. I know you're patronizing at times, but now it's just getting sad.
There are at least hundreds of thousands of Americans who have the necessary know-how to make home-made rocket launchers - not to mention IEDs, remote controlled directional mines, and many other munitions.
Yes, but how many of them are willing to take on their own gov't? American culture and Afghan culture are nowhere near the same thing. Moreover, our gov't no doubt keeps tabs on all the militia idiots, so they'd know exactly who to target in the event of an uprising by said militia(s). Our gov't would make mincemeat out of them in short order.
What is more, an American insurgency would disrupt the supply lines of the American military, and would probably enjoy the support of many soldiers or ex-soldiers. Over 15% of American men have had military training.
Please. Maybe so if the insurgency were more than a few thousand people, but you know what? You and I both know that will never happen, especially since many of the people who are militia types are also staunch advocates of American soldiers.
But beyond that, even hopeless causes can have a significant impact. Just the knowledge that ordinary citizens are armed has moderated many government policies. It is one of the checks and balances of the American system.
I seriously doubt that. Baldur, I think it's time for you to check yourself into your local looney bin, because you're beginning to confuse your long-time fantasies of overthrowing the gov't with reality. ;-)
