Types of Love

What was invented in the West as "Love" is a combo-pack of romantic and erotic attraction. Its been idealized in its present state as having to occur in equal parts.

But in any specific relationship the parts may be separate, or not found in a 50/50 blend. And the same is true for individuals.

The myths serve to conflate the two attractions, and only serve to confuse those who don't feel that way.

BTW, fraternal love ( the "of all humanity" kind ) isn't present in this notion of capital "L" Love.

Imagine, "He says sweet nothings and satisfies me in bed, but doesn't give to famine relief. I had to break up."

One of my strangest relationships was the inverse of yours. Luz was 8 years my senior, and we had nothing in common except for amazing chemistry in the sack.

We wouldn't doubt the orientations of those who have romantic Hetero or Homo stirrings without accompanying lust. Why should you doubt that you're a Pedo when that's your dominant romantic attraction.

It might be different if LGs wooed your heart and football linebackers stirred your loins... ;p
