Tor has to go through many proxies, so it's not uncommon for Tor to take some time to connect to sites, this is true esp for .onion sites.

Of course I know this; I should have said that GC has been much slower than normally. Yes - I think it is GC, not Tor, because other sites work just as always.

Today GC has been OK. I have not got those nasty "Problem loading page" messages.
