Plea bargains, of course, implicitly refuse the right to a trial.
Even if all defendants that took one were better off (itself questionable, but let's go with it), whole prosecution departments working under that MO cannot really be said to be respecting the procedural rights of their suspects if they openly seek to bypass trials.
