Soft science vs. hard science vs. pseudoscience

It's too easy to write off psychology because we cannot yet fully understand the mechanisms at work; that is significantly different than setting up an idea which can never be verified because it exists, by definition, outside of the natural world. The mind is potentially mappable, because it exists as part of the physical body in the form of the brain. I think a lot of people would love psychology to be a full-blown pseudoscience because they're afraid of what they may find out about themselves and others, but wishin' don't make it so.
