Re: Love Halloween!

Back when I was on parole, they'd make all the sex offenders in the city gather together at the parole board building on Halloween and hang out there for a few hours, ostensibly to 'protect' the children from pedophiles who might grab them while trick-or-treating.

This was utterly stupid for two reasons. One, the city already schedules Beggars' Night a day or two in advance for the same reason, to 'protect the children.' So they gather the RSOs together and watch over them on a night when kids are not out trick-or-treating--what's the point of that? And two, do they really believe that old stereotype, that pedos will snatch their children while trick-or-treating? Idiots.

I suspect they know all that, and gather the RSOs on Halloween for purely political reasons. 'Look, we're doing all we can to protect your children. Give us more tax dollars.'

Anyway, I no longer have to put up with that, and can enjoy Halloween to my heart's content! :-D Happy Halloween to all of you!
