Trauma (in the definition applicable to this context) is as real as Freddy Krueger is.

Sex feels good. Even they cannot deny it. And if it feels good, how come it be traumatic.

Death... well, my NDE felt good, but it didn't involve any violence... but I can tell you that being stabbed (which I survived), which is much more horror movie stuff than a non-violent NDE, does not feel good. I see way more potential for trauma in being stabbed than in sex.
