Guys, I am actually starting to love my visits to the doctor's office every few months, since I get some surprisingly good GMs in them (though not always, unfortch), as you all know :-)
Last week, a few days before Halloween, I met a truly awesome girl at the doctor's waiting room. I don't know her exact age, but from looking at her, I would guess she was no older than 19, and quite likely as young as 15 or 16. She may very well have been "underage," so I include my enjoyable interaction with her as a legit GM here.
I was sitting and waiting in the office to see the doctor with the usual degree of tedium until a boy between the age of 16-20 walked in, with the girl I described above--his sister--alongside him. I will call him "J" and her "S." S was really cute to behold, as she was quite thin, about average height for a girl, young-looking, with silky brown hair that went down to just above the middle of her back. Despite being thin she had a very nice body, and it was clear she had a very small cup size, which is right within my main preference. She had a really adorable voice that everyone on this board is the poorer for not being able to hear. She also carried a purse full of all the cute paraphernalia and memorabilia that young girls are known to carry with them.
S and her brother J stuck up a convo with an older woman who was also waiting to see the doctor, and since they were talking the time away, I politely joined in. I was hoping to get S to notice me, as I would find it flattering to receive attention from her, and a sign that she thought I was cool to talk to; it would have made my day entirely. I made sure I talked to all three of them equally so I didn't appear to be giving S a disproportionate amount of attention, and thus possibly coming off as "creepy."
S continued to say very cute things that put numerous smiles on my face. She was very excited about a camping trip that she and her brother were going on with some friends the following day, and her excitement over this made me excited, as well :-) I then broached the subject of camping, stating how I never went before but always wanted to (all true, of course), and she told me that it's a lot of fun, I should most def have it on my future itinerary (and I certainly will). She then mentioned, in a very cute way, how excited she was that her older sister was pregnant and was going to have the overdo birth medically induced on Halloween, so she and her brother were going to make sure they were home from camping to be with their sis that day. She then said, very cutely, "A Halloween baby!" That put a big smile on my face, and even though I didn't know her or her sister, I once again felt excitement over the blessed event right along with her, and offered my congratulations; her excitement and enthusiasm for the adventurous aspects of even the little things in life was totally infectious. This girl exhibited so many of the personality traits that make AGs (Adolescent Girls, for you newbies) so attractive and appealing to me from an emotional and social standpoint, and I really wished we lived in a world where I could ask her out to dinner. However, just spending this time with her was wonderful beyond compare.
A bit later, I got to talk to her more because another woman who had entered the waiting room to see the doctor, this one appearing to be somewhere in her 30s, started broaching a convo with all of us in a very enthusiastic fashion about Ozfest. Since I am very interested in concerts, I joined in, and when she noticed the shirt I had on, and she started a convo with me about Rob Zombie. As we talked, S suddenly chimed in and said to me, "You have a really big vocabulary." For a brief few seconds, my heart sunk, because I thought she may have been implying that I was coming off as pedantic, or worse, wussy and nerdy. I apologized in a light-hearted fashion, pointing out that writers tend to get "wordy" like that when deep into a conversation, and she responded, "Oh, that's okay, I didn't mean it in a bad way at all. I just meant you're really smart." I was on cloud nine to get what seemed to be a sincere compliment from her, and from that point on, more of her attention seemed directed towards me in the convo.
It was then that I noticed how she, like many AGs, had a bigger variety of items in her purse for every occasion than Batman does in his utility belt. She produced a bottle of vitamins that she carries with her so she can make sure she takes them according to schedule no matter where she goes. I thought this was totally cute, and I mentioned how I found it cool that she has such an equipped purse, and she smiled and explained that she has so many things in her purse that she often forgets exactly how many things are in there. Again, I thought that was awesomely cute :-)
Finally, my time to see the doctor came, and afterwards, when I was checking out to leave the receptionist nurse my paperwork and make my next appointment, I thanked everyone there for the nice convo they had with me to help pass the time, and exchanged names with everyone. S was the last of the four whose name I asked for (I didn't want to ask her first for obvious reasons), and she smiled and said, "So I see you saved the best for last." I smiled and told her something to the effect of "most certainly," I said a final goodbye to everyone in the waiting room, and departed, feeling very good for getting to spend that time with S. Her brother and the two older ladies were nice people to chat with too, but my exchanges with S, along with just hearing her be herself in exchanges with the others, made for a very pleasant GM, and also made a potentially tedious wait for the doctor into a time that will always be fondly remembered by me.
