I only skim GC once in a while lately, and there haven't been many posts that resonate with me, but this one sure does! I haven't a little girl at this time to do these cold-season things with, but some day I shall. Even if it's my own offspring with whom I may make and enjoy the cookies, and cuddle while watching movies on the home theater, that shall be quite alright by me.

The colder seasons are somehow rather more intimate and romantic to me, and have always seemed that way.

Today for me added yet another experience to the long list of emotionally salient experiences which seem to occur during this portion of the year. It's cause to believe that my above dream (cookies, cuddle) might yet become reality.

Winter is not so dark. The light lasts not as long, but anyone who lives in real snow country and has stepped outside to see the sun glistening off a fresh coat of snow knows that it is BLINDINGLY bright. Even at night, when the moon is high, you can see clearly and so far that you know she-the-moon must have lit the way for you to walk to some wonderful cabin on the horizon, where there is laughter, stories, warmth, and good cheer, and an unrelenting faith in magic and beauty.
