Where were all these outspoken 'keep government out of our lives' libertarians when Bush was in office? Nowhere to be found. Hmmmm . . .

Someone needs to go through the archives of, idk, Cato, Rockwell, Reason, even AmCon (which is not libertarian but is on the same wavelength here).

That more right-wingers, in all academy, punditry, media, and the street, are paying us attention now, I won't deny (Because, of course, we were right all the time, and only now are they coming to their senses or at least pragmatically realizing that the public is). That we didn't exist back then is a convenient lie to many (of both left and right, at that), but still a lie. And still, don't forget that most nominal leftists didn't oppose Bush on wars and civil liberties before 2004. And yes, that Obama did was one of the reasons why I thought he would really be different on this to almost any other 2008 candidate (certainly to Hillary and McCain), and the reason why I am particularly disappointed he is not. (I am also disappointed in other things, but at least he is where he said he would be in things like the economy, health, environment, eg)

Of course, whether the regained love for small government will remain under a right-wing presidency in 2013 is still anyone's guess.
I grant you that too.
