The world has advanced too many steps too fast in fulfilling needs, when profit motives were available, for me to accept that there is any actual need that is not in itself profitable or possible to turn it so easily.

The world has advanced--industrially and technologically speaking--to the point where the "need" for some rich person to make a profit in order to fulfill a certain need or want from greater society is entirely unnecessary, and the profit motive/requirement often gets in the way of producing what is needed and wanted under conditions that are best for the environment and society in general.

Food, water, habitation, health, security, education, infrastructure... all are profitable.

And under a system that is money and profit based, if an individual cannot afford to purchase any of these essentials due to their private--as opposed to social--ownership, that individual must go without any of the above, much to their detriment, and eventually to society's collective detriment when this occurs in large numbers.

I'll leave that for one day I have more time and more caffeine in my blood.

The pleasure will be all mine when that day comes.

Btw, I thought I would tell you that I am now going off to read a few chapters from the novel Sherlock Holmes vs. Dracula by Loren D. Estelman. What do you think of that?
