Yeah, he just let loose on her. I don't think he was getting pleasure in the sense you mean it; he was way too angry. But he clearly felt he was justified, and I think too many Americans are like this. They have this Biblical notion of justice. Spanking should be banned. If people could do it prudently and without anger, it might be another story, but clearly too many people use that as an excuse to use their kids to let off steam. I don't know, I think even then I'd still be against it, but at least I could understand it. This . . . is just another aspect of Americans' love of domination and violence. It's time it ended. Violence just begets violence; it seeps into the American consciousness and becomes a way of life. I grew up around this shit and I can tell you it haunts you for life. I know it's a cliche, but I am seriously fucked up because of this stuff. You cannot understand it unless you've been immersed in it.
