That's it. I fear the outrage over this video is misdirected, because it treats it as something exceptional. Moreover, looking at responses on the web I fear that even the opponents of corporal punishment have the wrong attitude: for most, the question is not "how can we correct this behavior?" but "how can we punish this man?" - which is to say, the first response of many shows a mindset quite similar to that of Judge Adams himself.

How do we correct that mindset?
