One msg more - a surprising thought this morning

This is off-topic, but this thought surprised me.

I have insulted some people in the end of the summer and this autumn - sometimes the insults have been mild, sometimes more serious. Some of those people were pedophiles, some were my acquaintances in real life.

I have always thought that if you insult someone, say something blunt, you should apologize later.

Tonight a strange thought came to me: What if I don't apologize at all?

I mean: if I was serious when I said my blunt words, why should I apologize? If I meant what I said, why should I take my words back?

Of course, if my words were too harsh, then I can explain them later and say that I should have put it in a milder way - but I don't have to take my words back.

Yes, this is an entirely new insight for me... I must ponder on it.
