I sincerely cannot say the same thing for the majority of people. Anyone can be outraged at an internet video: of a girl being beaten or of anything else that appeals to a sense of fair and foul. "99%" will have forgotten in a week and not do anything to transform that video from an evidence of everyday life into something akin to footage of the Nazis.

I don't know, I might be asking too much from everyone; but that means to me that they don't really care.

What would you have me do? Honestly, I really don't think most people care all that much. I ranted about this in Facebook, and it got virtually no response. One of my friends replied that the girl looked like, and I quote, a "spoiled bitch." She couldn't understand why the girl just now came forward with the video. She apparently didn't understand that victims of abuse are often motivated to protect their abuser, especially if the abuser is their parent. I did what I could: I screamed holy hell everywhere that I am a presence, both online and in real life. What else can I do? The vast majority of parents are squeamish about reacting too much because they still believe in corporal punishment and parental sovereignty. They don't want the gov't infringing on their parenting, so, while they may think he went too far, they say very little. And that's where we stand.

In the end I am only one person, and worse (in their eyes): I'm not even a parent, so I have less than one vote on the matter as far as they're concerned. They just pretty much ignored me. It's frustrating as hell, especially in light of the fact that had he had consensual sex with his daughter (not that I'd approve of that either, but still) they would've screamed for his head.
