I'm not sure why this one thing about me is different from any of the other things I'm not completely free to share with everyone at all times.

But growing up as a little Atheist surrounded by churchgoing peers taught me that there are things others can't or won't understand.

To this day, if someone tries to start a convo about Ghod in the workplace, I must deflect the topic and not "share" my views if I wish to keep my job.

As for "unattainable;" desire never cares about whether the object of desire is attainable. And since I'm not a rapist, I continue to be frustrated on some level by unrequited desire. Some of my crushes are married-monogamous, exclusive-lesbians &tc. But life involves not being able to have everything you want.

Our circumstances are unique. But we live with frustrations shared by all in other contexts. "I'd be happy, if only I weren't __________," rarely turns out to be true.

And while there are many suicides in communities suffering from persecution, there are also many which stem from those who anticipated finally being happy when X was accomplished who accomplish X and find themselves no happier.
