Social/artistic value exists within the work itself, not a category.

There will be Mohammed cartoons which are devoid of merit and jokes involving taboo subjects which have merit.

Anytime someone says that subject X can never be made fun of, they are judging the category, not the content.

Humor is also a tool used by victims of violence and oppression. Whenever groups say that there can be no jokes about the Holocaust, they dismiss those jokes created within the Holocaust by its victims.

And yes, LGsinmyheart is right to question the censor's placement of themselves in a position as an objective judge of merit.
