In theory I don't, but ethics is an unfinished science because reality doesn't work like philosophical speculation does.



I would like to think that I could not ever be a Hitler. I am pretty sure of that, actually. Then we get to the hard stuff. Could I be a SS officer? I would like to answer that in the negative, but I am just not sure enough. Could I rat on the Jews hidden in the attic next door? Possibly yes. Actually, maybe I would even trust more a person who says yes they could than one who says they never could.
