While all my instincts rebel against the idea of more extensive intrusive technologies (whatever exactly the technologies)... I also see that there is a point when they could become a Great Equalizer. When there is perfect transparency, how could anyone try to fool anyone? How could anyone hide a motivation? And how could anyone try to project a holier-than-thou image? The Christians have it right that there is nobody absolutely sinless; I wonder what a scientific confirmation of this would entail for humankind. At least it would certainly force a reckoning of a number of attitudes. Not the least of which would be, as Gatekeeper said, that pedophilia is much more common than is supposed (and if we take it as under-18 and not as under-puberty, about universal). But many more things would come to light. If and when, of course, this technology became accessible to everyone, not just to Gubmint.
