This phenomenon can be seen in the Finnnish theatrical play Nummisuutarit, written by Aleksis Kivi, a real genius, totally unknown to monolingual Americans.

In that play there are two idiots. The more stupid idiot keeps flattering the more intelligent idiot, and they both believe they are the most intelligent people in the world.

No, I keep writing my novel - I resume it when I get sober again - and I keep writing to NFiH. That correspondence has lasted ten years, about. I have learned many things with him and about him, but of course I will never say a word. When you talk about intelligent people, talk about NFiH.
