Even though the story has been debunked, or at least seriously undermined...

It is just another time. People are far more paranoid about child molestation today than they were about any crime at the Genovese era. People are reporting each other for the faintest suspicions of illegal immigration and terrorism... and there is a general atmosphere of lynching of pedophiles stronger than there is with the former given that ethnic profiling is weaker... the consequences of being too trigger-happy with molestation suspicions are nil, while the consequences for being seen as not doing enough are almost as devastating to you as having being the perp... so, all things considered, it simply stands to reason that anyone who realized what was happening (consensually or not) would have done something.

I remain of course, open to hear what the court finds out.

I simply remain absolutely skeptical that it could have been forcible, as in "use of physical force to dominate her against her will", given where it was. That it could've been extracted by other types of coercion or through deceit so she was physically acquiescing, and later, an incredibly low but non-zero probability, not be spotted by others anyway - I will say remains a little hard to believe at face value, but is possible.
