Obviously GDP numbers are often misleading, but you'd have to quadruple the world's productive output to really think of such an undertaking.
No, we would not have to quadruple the world's productive output. Modern mass production methods more than allow for this, and when it comes to food (to give just one example), the U.S. states Kansas and Iowa together produce more than enough food to feed the entire planet every single week. There is no scientific reason why anyone in the post-Industrial world of today should live in under-First World conditions; this is only because in order for people to have an abundance in the present system, they must have enough money to purchase it.
