Similar reasoning is used in the U.S., but our justice system - ever ready to correct "mistakes" - finds ways to ignore the law.

For example, declaring some crimes so heinous that anyone who commits them must be an adult, or mandating harsh punishments but not calling them punishments and not calling them criminal liability.
