Hi All,

Although I am not poor (not rich either - LOL), I like to get good value for my hard earned dollar. For example, in the grocery store there are many things sold under the store brand that are just as good as the nationally advertised products. Aluminum foil for example. There is no difference between the store brand and Reynolds Wrap except for the price. When I spend my dollar, I want quality as well as value.

Sometimes however, you get what you pay for. My cats will not eat the store brand cat food, insisting on 9-Lives. So, I spend the extra to get them what they like.

But the thing that is most difficult is to pay for something that you can get for free. PBS is an example of that. Many people do not donate to them because they can simply turn on the t.v. and watch it for nothing. Girl Chat is another example. Click on the URL and BINGO, you can get it for free. This is however, a cautionary tale.

Even if PBS goes out of business forever, there are a plethora of other quality channels, largely on cable, that we can watch. What, on the other hand, if Girl Chat goes off line? Are there other places to go where one can chat about an attraction base that is the most misunderstood in the world? While there are millions of viewers, some of whom ARE contributors, that enjoy PBS' programming, Girl Chat has perhaps a few hundred. If only a small percentage of the PBS audience contributes, they still have a lot of money.

A small percentage of a large number is a large number. Conversely, a small percentage of a small number is...well a VERY small number. If we don't support Girl Chat then is will simply not be there one day.

I have noticed that much of the contributions coming in to Annabelleigh are from the moderators and admins who run this site. Maybe it's the huge salary we are paid:) I have personally, over the years, donated well in excess of $1000.

Now I know that many of our regular posters have also joined in the effort to financially support this site, but I have an inkling that we still have a few hold outs who are getting it for free. There's nothing wrong with that if you really can't afford it, but if you can spare a dollar (or a euro) or two then you could do worse value wise.

Think about the things you DO spend you money on. No doubt much of it is for necessities. But most of us do have a little left over for discretionary spending. If you value Girl Chat, why not invest in her?

Please, there is NO reason to apologize if you cannot donate. That is not the point of this post. And, don't worry if the amount is small. A small donation shows that you care. If enough people care to make small donations, it can quickly add up to a significant amount. No amount is too small.

If you would like the address to which to send your financial support, please e-mail the treasurer or simply check out one of the Sheepster's donation updates.

If we all send in $5, $10, or whatever we can afford, and do on a regular basis, the antis worst nightmare will come true. Girl Chat will be here FOREVER!!
