Children can't tell the difference between someone who truly cares about them and someone who's just using them for their own gratification.

I guess my theory is that in a hypothetical society where attractions to children and relationships with them were out in the open, there could be other adults (not necesarily mainor attracted ones) who could maybe help younger kids tell the difference between someone who cares about them and someone who just wants to use them. The two different types of adults would be easier to spot for everyone, young and old, if we all didn't have to hide. Maybe?
