Most of the myths are consequences, not sources, of discrimination and prejudice against us or against the kids. So, although it is nice to show their character as myths to others, you can only do that with people who is already reasonable on the issues. You have to fight the prejudice directly with everyone else, and when you do the myths become unimportant because they are no longer reasonable discoursively.
Let's go with your examples:
Myth: Stranger Danger; Fact: 90% known molester.
The myth exists only because of the pre-existing prejudice against children that they must be under the control (not guidance or even guardianship: control) of parents and associated institutionalized helpers; and against us that every subverter must be motivated by evil motives.
Myth: Adult offenders; Fact: Many minor offenders.
This myth exists because of the prejudice in favor of age apartheid; but of course a person's character does not depend on age, so fighting age apartheid on its own merits would render this myth or its "correcting" fact irrelevant.
Myth: Homosexuals; Fact: Heterosexuals
This myth is due to the pre-existing prejudice against homosexuals as some kind of anything-goes sex addicts. A prejudice that also exists against us - remember the word "co-morbidity"? Its "correcting" fact does not question the co-morbidity prejudice, but actually reinforces it by saying that it is not co-morbidity that causes pedophilia, yet implicitly recognizing it exists in homosexuals.
