Well, everyone is different.

Personally, in my experience I don't let go.

They have drifted away and I have taken it. But I am still in love with them. Most of them if they crossed my door and asked me to marry them I would. All of them, now legal, if they crossed my door and asked me to have a one night stand, I certainly would.

Yeah, I can be happy for their happiness. But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't like it better if their happiness passed by being by my side.
