I may be completely wrong here but I think it is worth tossing in a suggestion. Perhaps you could do some research on what I am about to tell you about.

There are groups of people, not many in small towns but several in large towns, that are as you describe yourself. They either think of themselves or pretend to be babies and young children. There are Adult Baby Groups on the internet that practice everything from baby speaking to diaper wearing. I would assume that you are not "age-located" there, but at the young child area. One of my past partners was "age-located" where you are now. She wanted to be treated like a very young girl although she was in her twenties. We hit it off so well because I liked treating her that way... when she wanted it.

Your problem, Hypersonic, is that you have yet to get comfortable with EXACTLY who you are. Yes, as you get older, you will have to hide the child inside you in order to hold down a job, to do grocery shopping, to drive a car, yada yada yada. But, when you are in the privacy of your home-world, the sky is the limit!

Accept YOURSELF as we have accepted you. Then, life will fall properly into place for you and you will begin to enjoy life as it was meant to be enjoyed.
