Another thing which comes up in these threads is the desire to convert and relocate to a region permitting marriage to a child.

One thing which should be noted is that Islam isn't so much a belief system, as it is a lifestyle ( several, actually. )

While the West emphasizes what is believed, Islam informs the practice of most every habit of daily life. We accept a Christian at their word about their faith, because there may be no difference between their lifestyle and that of their secular neighbor. But conversion to Islam without the practice of Islam is meaningless, and will get one in trouble depending on which community you "join."

Since most of the restrictions and practices are quite legal in most jurisdictions, it might be worthwhile to research the customs and practices of the region one is interested in and spend a year practicing before deciding to convert.
