It has been decided by the Committee that The Hidden Wiki and the Deep Web can be mentioned here, because it's likely both are soon to become common knowledge anyway. I just wanted to exercise a bit of caution, as I never saw it mentioned here or anywhere else before, which is why your edit was a temporary one. Just as a reminder, please be advised to never go into great detail about anything you find on THW, particularly how to find any type of illegal material, or to imply that you have seen it even if you were not explicitly looking for it. Because of the nature of the Deep Web, anyone who travels its cyber-passageways does so at great risk, so we have to be cautious when it comes to discussions here involving it.
In regards to BC being more open-minded than this board, I will say that the cogs there allow more to be posted than you would find here, true. However, the many GL fora that have been kicked off the Web over the past ten years--leaving only two major GL boards, including this one, standing by the time the second decade of the 21st century rolled around--has made it clear that lax posting rules are not wise, and we also need to consider what the many fence-sitters and other open-minded Nons who visit this board will think. We know the antis are incorrigible, but not everyone outside of this community who lurks here will be a hardcore anti. We have to make our forum palatable to these particular non-anti lurkers and visitors. Open-mindedness on our parts is not really the issue here when it comes to what can or cannot be allowed. Hence, we may not be willing to take all the chances that the cogs at BC will elect to do.
Thank you for your understanding, and please do feel free to e-mail me and/or the Committee about this concern of yours. We do listen.
