Only the French can really make it these days as a trucker in the EU, and that is because they can retire at age 55 for life.

I left the States some years ago to return to Europe and drive a truck; since much of the hauling is now outsourced. Remember what the Republicans wanted to do in the U.S.? Allow Mexicans into the States to drive truck for $50 per week? That is what is happening now in the EU, since the admission of former Soviet Bloc nations such as Romania and Bulgaria, and before that with the Czech Republic and Slovakia, not to mention Hungary.

Believe me, I would love to live in a civilized place such as Europe, but if you want to go there, plan on teaching English, and then only in Eastern Europe; it is almost impossible for Americans to get work in an EU country unless you go to one of the poor countries mentioned in the preceding paragraph and bribe an official for papers.
If you buy papers showing that you are a native-born Romanian, for example, do you look like one? Could you pass for for a Bulgarian? If not, consider teaching English.
