a better degree of dialogue with those that hate us, if we did not use the word pedo. And I'm not saying we should substitute it with a euphemism either. Perhaps we should substitute it with taylor made words created for each unique situation the topic may arise in. After all, "We will catch more bees with honey than with vinegar!" And PEDO is just the vinegar that shuts peoples minds down. Forget dialogue if that word is going to be used. Unfortunately this is how people are. They hear a mere word and are instantly turned off and disgusted; so disgusted they often refuse to carry out any productive dialogue. And what about the fact the many people honestly believe PEDO to mean someone who stalks, molests, drugs, kidnaps, kids. Why use that word when so many actually believe that is what pedophilia is all about? It's crazy. We should use in place of it not a euphemism but rather taylor made groups of words created for each individual situation where the topic arises in.

And you can't compare it to the word gay or nigger, and the prejudism once (and to a degree - still) associated with those words. The difference is that many believe a PEDO to be something totally other than what it is, where-as GAY and NIGGER meant just what they were....a homo, and a dark-colored person from African regions, and that is what they were hater for (what they were). But we are hated not only for what we are, but more so for what we are not. That is a difference plenty worth mentioning. If people thought pedo only meant what it truly is, then I'd say it's fine to use it and stand by it. But as long as it means things like what I mentioned in first paragraph, it is self-abusive to use it; very counterproductive to our fight.
