don't see the point of using it or not using it

pedophile at best is a scientific, value-free term that connotes "attraction to children" - when you say "Bob is a pedophile", at best it's comparable to "Bob is a heterosexual", it doesn't really say anything.

also, while "pedophile" translates into the English "child lover", "philos" doesn't really translate to the English "love" all that well imo, so

ultimately, i don't really like using terms to define my attraction, and in a perfect world, I wouldn't have to.
