Alleged serial pedophile?

My dad was watching HLN (Faux News imo). I walked in the room for a few seconds. They were talking about that Sandusky case. One of the people said that Sandusky is an alleged serial pedophile. What the hell does that mean? Is everyone on HLN a fucking moron?
