Sounds like an attempt at extortion to me.

She doesn't care: she's just covering her ass, and trying to make a buck off of the faithful.

But, she also doesn't really have any proof - but a large donation might convey to her (and others) that she is correct in her assumptions.

If it is traditional to give a donation for such "services", I would say it is permissible (but not necessary) to give the traditional donation - but no more. Avoid this bitch from now on.
