Yes, and GirlChat was established in part because so many girl lovers were participating at BoyChat.

But the world wide web only dates back to the mid 1990s, so GirlChat was established only about 5 years after the earliest date it could have been established. Prior to that there was Usenet, but there just wasn't much opportunity for GLers to hang out, period.
