And by agreeing with you on this particular thing, does this not prove you are wrong that these boards are totally insular, and that not all of us have political philosophies tied into our sexual preferences?
For instance, you are aware that I am a supporter of a genuinely socialistic, resource-based economy, not a pro-capitalist pundit who supports a destructive "anything goes with no limits" form of capitalism where any form of regulation of the system's excesses is non-existent. I know you are aware of this, since you have critiqued me for it in the past. It does show, however, that I do not take a certain stance around here simply because it's a majority stance, and there is indeed diversity of opinion and belief on these boards. The fact that the majority of us, regardless of our political beliefs, support degrees of youth liberation in whatever type of system we support is a sign of respect for the younger people we care about, not as a sign that all of us on these boards think the same way. If it's somehow a sign of bias that the majority do not find our sexuality to be inherently destructive, and those we love inherently competent under the right societal conditions, then that should go likewise for the gay community, the issue of women's rights, etc. It's common and normal for any minority group to want their civil rights, but there is not universal agreement on what type of political system would be best to accomplish that.
As for this not being a debate forum, that is not the only purpose of this board. Its purpose is to discuss issues that are relevant to us, and that doesn't include nothing but arguing.
