I agree in part. But I don't see them as "lax," just taking a different option.

Unregistered posting allows more fence-sitters to post. But it also allows regular drive-by death-threats and Anti-screeds.

This in turn makes insult-the-Anti into a contact sport. It thickens the skin, but it means that the definition of "flame" shifts towards more allowance than would be present at a forum which requires registration.

Its not that they're BLers and we're GLers, its two different demographics. A closely moderated forum Vs. a nearly unmoderated forum.
