About the internet, every technology is dual use.

The USA and allies don't yet realize that every technology they develop to censor or track contents and people - whatever the reason, whether id theft for cc frauds or GC; the same can be used by Iran or Syria or Burma to do the same with the dissidents that they are supposedly supporting. Conversely, every technology that they develop or finance or aid in any way to hide, cover and protect dissidents, through encryption, IP masking, fake routing, whatever; can and will be used by us peds, by fraudsters, by pirates, and by internal dissidents too (from the most peaceful to outright terroristic).

Sometimes, many times, I think the world would be better off ruled by complete ignorants of modern telecoms and internet - they wouldn't try this game of "do as I say not as I do" against their geopolitical enemies. Because after all it is that - the same geopolitics that they played in times when they weren't forced to mask their policy behind pretty words that become empty when push comes to shove.

And btw, Iran does recognize trannies and makes legal gender changes. So again, Hillary is playing geopolitics, not doing real rights policies.
