In reply to I know. What was abusive about the abusive ones?nt posted by Hypersonic on 2011-December-12 20:02:15 EST, Monday
I've also had a consenual relationship with someone older and people would consider that relationship abusive, but I know it wasn't. It was with someone who made me feel special, safe, and beautiful. Somebody who's supported me and believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Who made me feel good.
I don't condone anyone who rapes or molests a child because it's a horrible thing to do to a child (or anyone really). It's scary and abusive. I've had both relationships so I know there is a huge difference between someone exploiting a child for their own sexual gratification, and someone who genuinley loves and cares for somebody, even if the person they care for is a child. I undersatnd why some people who have been abused would think that any form of attraction to a child is wrong because when somebody hurts you like that as a child they're hurting you at your most vulnerable. I luckely have had the benefits of a consenual relationship with a pedophile so I know that you can't paint everyone with the same brush. I could easily say all men are disgusting pigs because of my experiences with a few men, but that would be a wide generalization. Same goes with Adult/Child relationships. Just because some people attracted to children choose to be abusive and horrible doesn't mean all of them are like that or that every relationship like that is bad.
