No need to suppose. In some cases there was no declaration, so we can't know.

In other cases, there was, so we do know what they were thinking at the time they left.

I'm gonna have to extrapolate from those we do to those we don't, and assume, in the absence of confirmation, that each of these people had their own reasons which vary from each others' as well as from yours.

What reasons people give are not always the truth, or rather, it's more accurate to say they are often unaware of their real motivations. It's possible all of these people left only for the reasons they gave or for reasons other than their troubles stemming from being unable to reconcile their pedophilia with their internal pain. I really don't know, and neither do you. But I have a hard time seeing it as coincidence. I'm not asking everyone here to believe what I believe; I'm just asking them to consider a different perspective than the one they usually entertain, to recognize--just for a second--that these issues are not as bright and shiny as we may sometimes suppose.

The way to avoid discussing Politics, is to not discuss it. You've been eager to start such threads in the past, so it might be difficult to break the habit. But its very possible to take responsibility for your own posting activity and not start threads like the one we're in right now where you discuss them.

Okay, look: First off, this thread is not a political thread. It's a thread that discusses (among other things) politics in the abstract. Secondly, it's not really the content of the threads that bother me ultimately--note that I've argued with Dissident just as much as anyone else here. I would object if this board had a far left slant, providing the quantity of such posts and the hostile tone was the same. What I read here though on a regular basis is anti-government to the extreme. This is, in the real world, a fringe position, but it dominates here. If you can't see that this has grown out of frustration with our movement not getting anywhere in society, you aren't looking very hard.

The problem isn't the gov't, or rather, the gov't is merely a fraction of the problem. But according to many here it is the bulk of the problem, with the remainder going to neofeminists, and yet everyone but a handful of posters seems to ignore the glaringly obvious fact that our sex negative culture long preceded both big gov't and feminism, and that religion has been the primary culprit there. Neofeminists and the gov't would never have made their case without being able to build on that already firm foundation. But I've been over that before and I was, at least, willing to let it lie. But you guys keep dwelling on the same anti-gov't stuff over and over and over, and it's getting old.

I could say more but I'm really tired of talking about this, and my body is hurting right now.
