"What reasons people give are not always the truth, or rather, it's more accurate to say they are often unaware of their real motivations."

Good thus far. Though who am I to know whether they're deceiving themselves or not?

"It's possible all of these people left only for the reasons they gave or for reasons other than their troubles stemming from being unable to reconcile their pedophilia with their internal pain."

( Or from their fear of Elephants, to name another issue they didn't acknowledge. )

It looks like you've created a nonfalsifiable assumption. "Everyone else is in accord with me. And when it appears that they aren't, that's just because they've deceived themself that they aren't in accord with me."

And like most who need to assume unconscious unacknowledged motives, you place yourself in a position to see them in others; essentially arguing that you understand yourself well enough to talk about motives, but that others don't so you must speak for them.

This form of self-excepting characterization is necessary for conspiratorial thinking. "People are easily misled by elites, so its a good thing that I'm the one who can see clearly."

Try using that construct on yourself. "Here are my reasons and motives for leaving; but the reasons I give are not always the truth, or rather, it's more accurate to say that I'm unaware of my real motivations."

And no, I'm not going to discuss the specific Political assumptions you raise in this thread after declaring that you don't want to discuss Politics, because then there'd be two of us, instead of just the one claiming that there's too much Politics at GC.
