Forgive me as I do not know how to make text bold or italicized.

"""""
I don't buy that. Children's lib and MAP lib do not perfectly overlap. There are plenty of ways we can make a difference for MAPs without advocating sex with children. As you point out, that is mostly what I do: I advocate for understanding and better treatment of MAPs. Just being a recognized presence in the community whilst obeying the law is significant activism in itself."""""

No, they do not perfectly overlap. The needs and lack of rights youth have far exceeds our own.

We can make a difference but would those differences mean anything? A society that tolerates and *accepts* us but still thinks sex with youth is harmful doesn't sound all too great. I'd likely still not come out in such a society.

"""""We should not be focusing on youth rights, period. Not in this climate. It rings insincere in the minds of the public, and understandably so."""""

I think youth rights currently has more of a chance of getting a foothold than MAPs acceptance and rights. Our acceptance literally depends on the rights of children. Why? Because if children have more freedom and their opinions and views are taken more seriously, they can say, "hey I like him no matter what. I don't care if he is an MAP." Then the adults who truly take their opinions and views seriously will begin to question the blind hatred of MAPs. Even in sexual situations, "Hey that felt good and I liked when he did that to me, it didn't hurt me at all." I wonder how many times that is said but everyone just assumes "brainwashing" so they go and brainwash the child to fit into their mold.
