The thing is, apart from some unfalsifiable claims, there are also claims that are falsifiable, and those ones are treated as if they are so empirically or logically self-evident as to merit no examination, or as to question the motives of anyone who would engage in that examination.

And yes, that is, at the very least, dogmatic. Calling it religious could be debated, but I certainly understand why it is an appropriate word.
