First I'd like to say that while I disagreed with a lot of the video I was very pleased by it. Dr. Cantor doesn't seem to think paedophiles (or even sex offenders) are some innately evil people. To him, we just need help.

That being said here are the things I disliked. For one thing the assumption from the beginning that if someone is a paedophile that something must be wrong. This ruins objectivity because they are focusing on negative comparisons.

Another thing is the fact that studies were done mainly on sex offenders who already molested children. The problem with this is that some studies show that the majority of sex offenders are not actual paedophiles but situational. Even if the ration was 50/50 that would still mess up the results.

Personally, I do not meet any of their requirements for paedophilia. I am slightly above average height, right handed, good memory, and generally pretty smart. I have never gotten an IQ test but just from my experiences and school grades I am definitely not in the bottom half. I am sure of that.

Regarding school I had high marks all the way until high school. That was when I began disliking school itself, I never studied, did homework last minute, and I still achieved a 80's average.

I am now in college, I have had professor's comment highly on my skill and intelligence in their classes. One liked my work so much he said I gave him hope for the younger generation. Not that I think anything is wrong with us but he apparently thought so.

One has to look no further than members here on Girl Chat to see that these studies on paedophilia need to be re-done. Dissident, incredible at research, writing, and accurately forming his ideas into words that are easily understandable. Gimwinkle (what society considers an offender mind you) can paint a vivid picture with his words. There are obviously others but those two came to mind first.

Another issue, one which you guys may not agree with me on. The assumption that sexual activity with a child is something that must always be stopped and/or avoided. "The Trauma Myth", while anti adult/child sexual activity, pretty much shows that adult/child sex is not as harmful as people believe. The Rind studies back this up. I think scientists need to re-evaluate child sexuality. They need to look at how societal reactions affect the child when it comes to this. They need to stop assuming that if a child doesn't show any negative reactions that they may have actually enjoyed the experience and they were not "brainwashed".

Well, that was my 2 cents plus some.

Young, fresh, and fly. I don't fit the paedo stereotype at all, but I am one.
