So, this pretty little girl has just noticed a candle on the kitchen table. She wants to play with the flame. You know she will burn her little fingers so you move to douse the flame. She becomes angry with you and bids you not to stop the object of her fascination. You try to explain the problem, the danger that you see but she does not (lack of experience.) Being immature as many little girls can be, she only knows that she wants to explore the flame.

Should she be disciplined? Oppressed? Prevented her experience, good or bad? Does she deserve to lead her own life and follow her own heart?

I'm being Devil's Advocate, here. I certainly do NOT contest what you have written!
